Garden Club and Woodturning
Carrington Garden Club meets on the first monday of each month. Each meeting is followed by a self-catered morning tea. Guest speakers are regularly invited and competitions for the best plant, vegetable and flower are run at each meeting. The club auctions specimens to help raise funds.

Occasional bus outings to view prize gardens are organised throughout the year.
"The Woodies" are Carrington Wood Turners and the club was formed when the Recreation Centre was built in 1998, and they make good use of the area under the swimming pool which was purpose built for wood turning, pottery and metal work.

Two of the more experienced members of the Village ensure the safety of new residents working with the available tools, and instruct and encourage learners in the various disciplines. The members produce items for sale in various fundraising ventures, and also to furnish the Village from time to time. A favourite among the male residents, the workshop is put to good use!
