Nursing Home Services include:
- Meals and Personal Care: As well as offering high quality personal care services, nourishing meals are provided (special diets, purees, and specific preferences on cultural grounds are catered for and volunteers help with some residents at meal times.
- Hairdressing and Physiotherapy is provided on site in designated rooms. Additional charges may apply.
- Health Services: Access to a visiting podiatrist, dietitian, dentist, optometrist, pharmacy and the choice of your own visiting Medical Officer is available.
- A Nurse Call System is provided for each bed and is monitored 24 hours per day.
- A Telephone Line may be accessed for your personal use in most rooms. Additional changes may apply.
- Furniture: All furniture is provided. Some personal items are allowed in some of the rooms, but this should be discussed with the Nurse Unit Manager.
- Diversional Therapy Staff are available for activities and outings seven days per week. Programmes are developed to suit individual needs and optimise independence. Visiting artists, pets and children from local schools are welcomed regularly.
- Gardens: An extensive, beautiful garden surrounds the Nursing Home and gives pockets of tranquility in which to walk or sit.
Respite Service:
Carrington can provide a Respite service on a temporary basis for people who are normally cared for at home by family or friends. Three respite care beds are available in our nursing home. Clients can have up to a total of 56 days of respite in a financial year. An ACCR assessment is required for respite accommodation.
