Our Volunteers

"Volunteers are one of Carrington's most valuable assets and their services contribute to our quality of care"

Are you a caring person who has a lot to give to others? Are you looking for a rewarding new challenge? With the help of volunteers, we can extend and enhance the many services and activities offered to our residents. We're always appreciative of our volunteers' time, regardless of how much or how little time is provided. Even an hour or two a week is a big help. Most of our residential services have active and invaluable programs run by volunteers.

Why volunteer?

Volunteering with Carrington Care provides the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the people we care for. There is a real satisfaction in knowing that you've improved the quality of life for someone else. As a volunteer, maybe you could:

· Visiting and talking with residents
· Pastoral Care visiting
· Reading letters or books to residents
· Assisting in the operation of a kiosk or shop within the facility
· Assisting with crafts, particularly where the volunteer has a particular skill or talent
· Chaperoning on outings and/or shopping trips
· Arranging flowers
· Assisting with chaplaincy needs
· Assisting with fund raising activities eg fetes, stalls etc
· Providing entertainment and assisting Carrington staff with diversional activities
· Assisting with tasks in the facility eg sorting mail, administration tasks
· Producing and distributing newsletters
· Assisting with additional daily life tasks eg make up, hairstyling, hand massages

Our volunteers and residents find the time they spend together a mutually rewarding experience.
