Nursing Home
Carrington has one 94 bed Nursing Home on site at Camden catering for the needs of the older, frail and younger disabled residents from our community. This includes a 16 bed dementia specific wing caring for residents with dementia. Our Nursing Home embraces a holistic approach to care, through the skilled and dedicated staff employed by Carrington. Registered Nurses are on duty 24 hours per day.
The high quality care given to our residents is meticulously assessed for needs and preferences on an individual basis, with care plans reflecting the specific resident's and advocate's choices.
Our Nursing Home is divided into three main areas:
- Parry House is a 32 bed service accommodating frail aged and younger people in this modern facility, built in 1995. Three of these beds are used for Respite (see Nursing Home Services).
- Rothbury/Rose House is also a 32 bed service accommodating 16 aged people in Rothbury. Rose House is a 16 bed service for older people with dementia related conditions who are mobile and require expert care. This facility was also built in 1995.
- Carrington House is a 30 bed unit in the original ground floor heritage building built in 1890 which has been modernised, with shared rooms.
All prospective residents are required to be assessed by an Aged Care Assessment Team before being accepted into a nursing home. ACCRs provide a multidisciplinary assessment of the needs of aged people, in order to ensure the appropriate placement.
